End Of Year

It is now coming to the end of the year. Yay at last school is coming to a end.
We will be off to high school next year after a long holiday and going to see friends and family over in England. I will be over there at Cristmas I can't wait I haven't seen them in six years.

Cultural Activity

At the moment we are doing things on different cultures.
Emma and I have made our own culture and island the same
as the rest of the class. We have boards like the ones we used
the science fair to put the island and all our cultural information.
Emma and I have designed clothes and school uniforms as well
as designing the school the houses the pools and the beaches.
It will be nice to see it when it is finished.

Run like the Wind

"Keep on going, you can do it." Two minutes into the race and I am already puffed.
"You need to be in better shape."
"Tell me something I don't know."

Running hard out my lungs feeling like they were going to burst my heart thumping. Thinking to myself, "You've only got 100 metres left to go, hurry up."

Taking on another 50 metres with another 50 to go "you can do it, you cabn do it." I ran hard out huffing and puffing I was going to colaspe.
"No!Just keep running"
"I am going to die, I am going to die."I kept those words running through my head
"one more step then another come on we are almost there. We are in this to win." No those were not the right words since I was coming LAST. Three metres to go, Two, One. "I finished." At last I finished. I finished the 800 metre race.

One year we had the awesomest teacher in the world, she believed we all had potential. She treated us kindly and respected us as her students. I truly believed we had the best teacher ever.

When I had heard the bad news it was heart breaking. We were going to lose our teacher. I was not looking forward to go to school that morning for many reasons like we aren’t going to have the same teacher, who was our new teacher going to be? It was driving me crazy.

When I eventually got to school I found out I had the worst teacher ever. From what I heard he gave kids detention for asking a question. I also overheard that he got driven out of his last class because they all hated him.

A couple of months had passed and my parents were getting angrier and angrier. My grades were dropping by far and they could nothing about it. I was supposedly in the smart people class but it did not feel like it anymore. The school was rubbish and so were the teachers. In the end my parents could take it no longer. “Excuse me, I would like to make a complaint about the teachers at your school.” my dad said to the principal of the school.

It took a while but then it was done we got a teacher to replace the last one that got fired. Life was good once again. My grades picked up and the new te3acher was nice what more could want?

Lost

It was the day of the big shop. We had no food in the house. I was only four. Looking for the baked beans.

I was scared. I felt alone. Suddenly someone bumped into me, I fell to the ground. Screaming and crying as I got up off the floor. The lady said sorry as she introduced herself. Her hair was as white as snow. She must have been in her late eighties.
"Where is your family?" she asked. I just shrugged still crying a bit. I was very scared since she said I had to walk around with her and get her shopping. 'THANKFULLY' she then decided to take me to customer services.

"There is a little girl at the front desk, she has blonde hair and blue eyes if this is your girl please come and collect her."Radioed the random lady at the front desk.
"DAD!" I yelled. The man who was supposedly my dad turned around. Wrong person. I started to panic. I was so scared that my dad was never going to come.

A small black figure in the distance was coming closer. As it got closer I recognised who it was "dad". I was running towards him. I was so happy. After paying at the cashier we left and went home. I never wanted to go to the supermarket ever again.

Science fair

Anthea and I got into the science fair regional. But we did not win.:(

We are learning Japanese at the moment so mrs Fraser told us to write a script and make a video out of it we had a lot of fun doing it/well sort of but she said we could only have one take that sucks. What I think Emma and I did good is that we only took one take and we speaked sort of fluently. We said this:

Hello-to each other.

then we asked each other what our names were.

then we asked each other how they were.

and we replied i am fine thankyou.

And last but not least we said goodbye to each other.

Life Education

Last week we had life education for you that don't know that is when Harold comes and talks to you about drugs, alcohol and puberty ladder. On the first day of visiting Harold we watched a movie and the name had something with the word shadows in it in that time we also talked about the puberty ladder and that we should delay our decision. The second day we learnt a bit about drugs and the impact it has on our life/future we also learnt about the names and images of some drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, party pills and more we even got a book. On the last day we got to see some disturbing pictures of dunk people and people who took drugs after that we had to watch this other movie and listen to people talk about their past. We also got to meet Harold and this other giraffe called big G he was pretty scary, they sung us a song about all the things we had talked about though out those three days. We learnt a lot of information about life over those three days including the info on drugs alcohol and the puberty ladder. We even had time to play a couple of games of paper scissors rock though we had to stand up and play it instead of sitting down. The reason why little kids don’t get to see big G is because he is scary and he also looks like a girl for some reason.

Science Fair

Anthea and I have decided to go with the idea of the grass seed. Now all we have to do is decide what we will have as the question and get all the equipment that we need. Then we shall start our experiment and do our hypothesis. After that we have to do our results and conclusion. The way we will get the seeds is probably by calling some garden centers asking if they could give us a handful of seeds and some tips how to grow grass properly. This experiment will be much better than the bubble gum one because it was hardly an experiment in the first place.

Science Fair Update

I just got a few more ideas and I thought that doing one on grass would be good. I thought that we could get like a few types of grass seeds and see what type grows the best. Plus then we might not have to buy anything we could just ask for donations of grass seed as we would only need a bit less than a handful. For the board we could put what one we think would grow the best and put information on the best way to grow your grass/lawn. I think it would be better to this than the bubble gum because the bubble gum is not really an experiment. This way we can have a proper experiment and learn something at the same time. This is my idea of what the board could look like if we did it. Will be having another update tomorrow.

Me and Anthea have decided that we will go a head with the bubble gum idea. Our question is going to be Does the flavour of gum effect how big the bubble will get? On the board we will have our introduction, hypothesis, body/research, conclusion and result. It is going to be so awesome because we will hopefully be able to eat gum in class for the science fair. plus if our question doesn't work out we have back up plans such as what flavour gum lasts the longest, what gum is more cost efficient. I think this is going to be a fun experiment type thing. I shall update again soon.

Science Fair update

For the science fair me and Anthea are going to do something on bubble gum. This is going to be awesome,I think it is going to be called bubble trouble and it will probably look like this. We are going to see how big a bubble we can make with the new 5 gum and hubba bubba. We found this idea on http://www.sciencebob.com/ it is an awesome website with loads of ideas for science fair and it has methods as well. I seriously don't want to do science fair!!!

Science Fair

Today we found out that we have to do the science fair.

By the end of the week we should have came up with our topics. There are a couple of steps to make a science fair project. step no:1 coming up with an idea some easy ways of doing that is asking people what they did in the science fair or just look at some web sites, or sometimes it can just be eaiser to do something you like and start brain storming on it . Step no:2 is getting the information and gathering them into groups the groups you will need is a introduction, body, hypothesis and the conclusion. step no:3 is getting all the information onto a board and presenting it in a clear and logical sequence.

sports options

On Wednesday the 26Th we had sports options I went to contours gym with some other girls. Zumba is a really good exercise to burn fat and tone your muscles. There are a lot of fat burning exercises e.c.t the Mexican travel and other really complecated dance moves. We had this lady come in to contours at the last block and taught us zumba I didn't do much I thought it was really boring. When we had finished we got a free pass to the zumba class but they said to give it to like your mum or sister.

Billy the Rock

This is a video about my pet rock called Billy. Billy is an awesome rock and he does exactly what I say and he listens to me not like some people not mentioning any names. We did this video because we are doing a something for science on land form. My rock like to explore that why he came to new zealand. S.A.M.S Learner T-Shirts

My sams learner t-shirt is about the sams learner as the contributor, explorer, thinker, communicator and the self manager. The reason I have two kids talking on the phone is to show the sign of the communicator,I put the to kids around the tree to show the sign of the explorer, for the thinker I put two kids coming out of the box to show the fact that they are thinking outside the box. For the self manager I put one person being independent and reading by herself and for the contributor I put a couple of kids around a tree dancing.

Chinese Introduction

For my Chinese introduction I think I did alright because it was the first time and I didn't have to use the script.

S.A.M.S Learner

My Strength as a sams learner is:
As a communicator I Socialize with others good but I don't listen as much.
As a self manager I do independent things well but I am never prepared for learning.
For the thinker I can think Creatively but some times I will just take others ideas and make them better.
As a Contributor I don't partisapate in much school events but if it is something I'm good at I shall Contribute.
Last is the Explorer I will try new things but will Probably just give up.
